"Jade may seem like she's a sweetheart, but she's a demon in disguise. She is furious, powerful, and not afraid to step up to a challenge. She is arrogant, impatient, and most of all, she's extremely temperamental. While in heat, she is a right cow. She will bite, kick, and do anything to try and keep anyone away from her. When she is racing, Jade is strong and really excels over the surface. She will always go to the front and put up a challenge to any horse who tries to run her down. Back in the stable, she will pin her ears and launch for people. Jade is very antisocial, but her passion is running, and she's in it to win it. As Jade is super speedy, she is a sprinter who can excel over both dirt and turf. Jade will break extremely quickly and go for the lead. She will challenge to anyone who tries to run her down. She will knuckle down and make it a two horse duel between her and the horse challenging her. She likes to run along the rail as it helps her in the later stages of the race. As soon as she breaks, she will cut across and stick to the rail. You will never see her coming wide, she will always be on the inside." Jade was an interesting filly for us to get our hands on. We needed some girlies in our string and our interest was piqued in her when we saw she ran dual surface. Despite her attitude problems, we decided Kayla would be able to handle and enjoy working with this filly. Although Kayla agrees that some days she is not able to communicate well with Jade, overall the two seem to take to each other fairly well. Jade is kept in private turnout to avoid any possible injuries and Kayla spends a lot of time just reading in front of her stall to get her used to her presence. In the saddle, Jade seems content with Kayla's quiet riding style and Kayla is amazed at the filly's intelligence. These two have a bright future ahead and we can't wait to see what will happen.
