"The beginning of Ian's story began when Frosty casually suggested that the mare that CCI should breed to our successful turf racer and sire, Jet Ski, was her Little Miss Innocent, an equally successful and probably even more so turfer. We freaked and obviously were willing to go to the ends of the earth to get that breeding. Well, with a little discussion, we got SOPS on our side and created the ultimate GALAXY RULER (almost his name, for real!). Jet is going to be done proud by this little boy and Ian shows Missy's need for speed. Ian just enjoys to run and really can harness his power into his beautifully built hindquarters. Unlike most young horses, he is able to use his hind end, keeping him from tiring quickly. He also reaches with his muzzle, often trying to get ahead that way if he can't with his legs. Ian is intelligent beyond all get out because he can escape any stall you put him in so by now we are used to seeing him grazing on our lawn. He loves sugar cubes and is always treated to one every morning with breakfast (and sometimes other times too!). To be honest, Ian isn't one to overextend himself to be nice. He isn't mean, he's just not very outgoing or affectionate. <3 from SOPS & CCI created this boy and both barns will see nothing but having him succeed in the greatest way possible!"
"Ian is intelligent beyond all get out because he can escape any stall you put him in so by now we are used to seeing him grazing on our lawn. Like his dam, he loves to play tricks and be a pain in the butt, thus explaining his desire to escape any stall he's in. He loves sugar cubes and is always treated to one every morning with breakfast (and sometimes other times too!). To be honest, Ian isn't one to overextend himself to be nice. He isn't mean, he's just not very outgoing or affectionate. We don't mind this though, as we find him to be a breath of fresh air. We've missed having Missy escape from the racing barn, and she still does escape from her triple locked stall in the broodmare barn but it's not the same! To have her firstborn son here with us is a great honor. He has been moved around a lot at an early age and that explains why he doesn't go out of his way to be affectionate and bonding. He likes to be around the other colts, despite the dominant need that drives males, but finds them to be good company. He doesn't mind humans at all."
"Jet Ski is a major well know turf legend. He is a grade 1 stakes race horse and has accomplished so many amazing things in his career. He won the Dawn Treader Cup on MHS and placed in the Breeder's Cup Turf. His bloodlines are very rare as he only has three foals. One of which is Fleet Goddess, a grade 1 stakes champion. He was also Horse of the Year on Tropical Equine. Little Miss Innocent is a Hall of Famer and grade 1 stakes race horse. She absolutely dominated on the race track and won many great races such as the Universal Cup, Breeder's Cup Filly & Mare Turf, Breeder's Cup Turf and more."
"Ian is the product of a breeding exchange we made with Brandy of CCI a long time ago. Brandy wanted to breed her top turf stallion Jet Ski with our top turf mare and Hall of Famer Little Miss Innocent. We agreed, and playfully called the foal "Galaxy Ruler". We intended for him to be a champion, and a champion is what Ian is becoming. When Brandy announced that she was closing down her stable, we reclaimed Ian and sold him to Kirsten and Akita Rose Stables, as we didn't have room at the time. He excelled with Kirsten, and is quickly becoming recognized as a top turf racehorse. Unfortunately, Kirsten also had to close her doors, and now Ian is back at SOPS. We intend not to let go of Galaxy Ruler ever again, as he was always special to our hearts. He is finally home, where his whole life began."
"Ian just enjoys to run and really can harness his power into his beautifully built hindquarters. Unlike most young horses, he is able to use his hind end, keeping him from tiring quickly. He also reaches with his muzzle, often trying to get ahead that way if he can't with his legs. He likes to break from the gate and then loaf around at the back, seemingly distant from the race, until he comes around the final turn. Then, he surges forward as fast as he can, loving the feeling of the turf under his legs and the sensation of passing others. He usually has more energy than the other horses left at the end of a race. He pretty much only runs on the turf track, which is fine since there is no reason to take him off of it. He loves races right in the mid range, not liking them too short or too long. He's set up to go far."
Sorry for all of the words, Ian is a horse that is truly near and dear to our hearts here at CCI. He was meant to be our turf horse but after we left, we hoped he would excel with others. Although he has done well since he began racing, we hope that in his final season, he can achieve Grade I. Otherwise, we may just keep him racing the next year to enjoy the horse that we worked so hard to create. WE ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE HIM BACK! THANKS FROSTY!

"Very descriptive, he seems like he's got a lot of potential! I'm pretty sure he would have owned this race if it wasn't for Flawed Princess' rank run...He seemed to just be digging into the turf and enjoying himself today, loving and taking advantage of running on such a gorgeous warm-like February day. Keep up the good work!" - [Axelle]
"A powerful horse, he has a good amount of experience and seemed to be determined to fight for a win." - [Judge Alexia]
